Create a pixel art GIF in four steps
Pixel art animation turns small clusters of colored squares into expressive characters and icons. Retro-style GIFs work especially well for reaction stickers, game mockups, community posts and personal websites because the shapes remain readable at small sizes.
- Choose a sprite. Start with a pixel heart, a star or a cheerful face. Each shape is drawn from a fixed grid of square pixels.
- Pick your palette. Select the main pixel color and a background that helps your design stand out.
- Add simple movement. Float creates a bouncing feeling, pulse adds a heartbeat-like change in size, and tilt introduces a playful wobble.
- Export your animation. Save a 320×320 looping GIF, ready to reuse in prototypes and conversations.
Tips for cleaner pixel animation
Use a restrained color palette, preserve the square edges of each pixel, and animate one primary property at a time. Pixel art can lose its crisp character when stretched with smoothing, so keep its edges sharp and avoid very elaborate camera effects. For web pages, compress GIFs before publishing if file size becomes an issue.

The built-in shapes are simple original presets. The exported images are intended for reuse, but you remain responsible for ensuring any additional assets or branding you add are yours to use.
