Change GIF Speed
Make your animated GIF faster or slower without removing the animation. Choose a speed multiplier, preview the result, and download a new looping GIF.
Some GIF viewers enforce a minimum frame delay, so extreme speeds may vary.

How GIF speed works
A GIF is made of frames and a delay value for each frame. To make it play faster, we shorten those frame delays; to make it slower, we lengthen them. The sequence of images stays the same, so the duration changes without altering the original image dimensions.
For example, a 4-second GIF at 2× speed will play in approximately 2 seconds. Different viewers may clamp very short delays, so actual playback may vary.
Speed settings to try
- 0.5×: Slow down a reaction or reveal to make a detail easier to see.
- 1.5×: Make a motion feel more energetic without a drastic change.
- 2×: Shorten a repetitive loop for a snappy sticker or icon.
Frequently asked questions
Can a GIF be slowed down?
Yes. Choose 0.5× or 0.75× to increase the delay between frames.
Will the GIF still loop?
Yes. Exported GIF files are configured to loop automatically.
Will every app display the same speed?
Not always. Some apps and browsers enforce minimum GIF frame delays, particularly for extremely fast loops.
